From Tea Farming to Beekeeping: Women, Livelihoods and Climate Resilience in Malawi
The Mthunzi Project, is supporting tea farming communities in Malawi to strengthen climate resilience, improve livelihoods, and promote gender equality.
Our work seeks to involve communities and ensure their voices are heard. We believe that by working collectively with workers, farmers, and communities alongside our partners we can realise our vision of a tea sector that is thriving, socially just, and environmentally sustainable.
At ETP we take a community-led, ‘participatory approach’ to drive long-term, meaningful change in tea. This means that beyond just listening to and consulting communities, we ensure they have influence over the type and scope of projects in their region, and over the decisions and resources that affect them.
