The Kenya Tea Development Agency supported improved energy efficiency in Kenya

Outcome statement

In 2020, the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) made significant progress with improving energy efficiency in tea production processes. KTDA recruited engineers across each region it operates in to ensure its factories are operating with increased energy efficiency.

ETP’s contribution

ETP implemented a three-year energy efficiency programme with the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA). As part of this, we conducted energy audits at each KTDA factory, and trained staff on the value of energy efficiency and practical steps to reduce energy usage.
