Partnerships developed in India to support carbon emissions reductions in tea supply chains

Outcome statement

In December 2023, two partnerships were created to support carbon emission reductions in India. The Tea Research Association (TRA Tocklai) and Boomitra signed an agreement to collaborate to reduce carbon emissions and further work on climate change. Erdaillumine and producer Mcleod Russel developed a partnership on carbon emission reduction in their supply chain.

ETP’s contribution

ETP, with support from Tea Vision Trust, co-hosted ETP’s Inaugural tea Roundtable in India in November 2023. The Roundtable was an opportunity to convene stakeholders across the Indian tea sector, from members of tea estate communities to producers, packers, tea associations, and more. ETP included Boomitra and Erdaillumine as speakers in a session highlighting the challenges facing small tea growers.
